"I’m sure all Gardél tracks are sexy but I lured an Argentine girl back to my flat once to hear my Gardel LPs and we spent all night listening to them – really! I vividly remember her translation of this one, about a guy who loses his girl to a rich man. “All is fair in love, so you don’t owe me anything. But if you think you might owe me something, get him to pay, he’s got money!”.
